Removing the shaft from the Outhaul transmission furler It is the very first repair I did in March 2013, so it is not well illustrated.

How it looks

Loosen the bolt at the bottom
I later replace it with a similar thread bolt, but much longer

Use a car jack and protect the deck with wood to even the pressure

Closer look

I put a metal plate between the bolt and the wood

Slowly jack up

You can see the shaft that starts to go out

I later replaced the bolt with something longer to push the shaft through

I unfortunately did not photograph the removal of the 4 bolts holding the transmission (and the electric motor attach to it)
Neither the removal of the 3 bolt connecting the transmission box to the electric motor
Now is the electric motor secured to the mast
