Fresh water pump The Symptoms: my fresh water pump (light indicator on 24 Volt Panel) would go on for longer and longer periods. Used to be 20 seconds, became 40 seconds, sometime several minutes (so I would switch it off manually - on the 24 Volt panel). The Solutions: Help provided by Bill & Miles from the forum.
I first switch off the fresh water pump (from the 24 Volt panel).
I took note of the 5 electric connections (2 from the bottom, 3 from the top) of top of the D-Plate Pressure Switch and disconnected them (see picture below)
Then I had to remove (unscrew) the water accumulator in order to remove (unscrew) the D-Plate Pressure Switch.
I used a screw driver and vinegar to remove most the (I supposed) calcium (or debris).
I put it back together (making sure to use teflon tape on the thread) and it works wonderfully!!! Overall job was easy, took 4 hours all together mostly on cleaning and also because of discovering/learning what to do, should take half that next time.
Note: I brought the D-Plate pressure switch and the little tube/connection that screw in to a store to buy some new ones, but the thread must be pipe metric... as none of the D-Plate Pressure Switch would fit into the connection that screw on. It is close to a 1/4" but is not. If anyone has part number for spares, that would be much appreciate. |
