Volvo 3582512 (Exhaust pipe Elbow) On the diagram, it is reference #29 for part 3582512 (Exhaust pipe Elbow)
The problem is the build up of carbon that progressively blocks the water from arriving and cooling the exhaust gas. Water to cool down the exhaust comes from the blue hose, goes through reference 24 part: 859836 then reference #25 part 859835 (gasket)
On picture 4 I show plugged water intake (white arrow) used for other models (one on each side) On picture 11 I put a flash light to lite the arrival of the cooling water

On the diagram, it is reference #29 for part 3582512 (Exhaust pipe Elbow)
it is connected to:
reference #31 part 861414 (gasket)
reference #25 part 859835 (gasket)
Water to cool down the exhaust comes from the blue hose,
goes through reference 24 part: 859836 then reference #25 part 859835 (gasket)
Then enter the Exhaust pipe Elbow doted blue arrow)
Then is mixed with the exhaust gas

On picture 12 I lite a green light to show where the water arrives (blue arrow) to cool down the exhaust
Note the other water arrival (red arrow) which is not use on my engine model
On picture 13 keep the same position as picture 12
On picture 14 you can see where the exhaust gas arrive,
also blue arrow show where the water arrives,
red arrow is the unused 2nd water arrival
